Our History

Byington Steel Treating, Inc was founded on April of 1952 by Bill Byington. The operation started as a one man shop in a small leased building located at 650 Mathew Street in Santa Clara, California, just
a few blocks from its current location. With some savings money
Mr. Byington was able to purchase and build a few furnaces to
accommodate his small facility. Within a short period of time a full
and part-time employee were necessary to keep up with the demand
and success he had created. In 1952 Mr. Byington purchased the
property at its current location (1225 Memorex Drive) and built a
5,000 square foot building, adding more equipment and personnel
to accommodate such a demanding and growing industry.

By January of 1967, the company had grown so large they decided to incorporate. In 1972 another 6,000 square feet were added as well as additional equipment. By 1978, Byington Steel purchased two buildings next door and added another 12,000 square feet of additional space.

Today, the company is the home to 28 employees, operates 24 hours a day with an entire fleet of trucks making pickups and delivery within the bay area. Furnaces are housed by category in individual buildings.
